Men det är verkligen så! Att sätta vårlökar nu på hösten är ett fantastiskt sätt att förbereda din trädgård för våren. Och än är det inte för sent, åtminstone inte här där jag bor där temeraturen är långt över nollan och visar plus långt framöver i prognoserna. Blomlök behöver en lång period av kyla, det är därför vi sätter den nu på hösten. Försök att sätta lökarna du köpt så snart som möjligt, blir de liggande torkar de snabbt ut. Lökarna går att sätta fram tills tjälen går i marken, men ju tidigare desto bättre eftersom löken då får god chans att rota och etablera sig och eftersom det tar tid innan jag får tjäle hos mig sätter jag lök långt in i november.
Hos mig sätts det extra mycket narcisser i år. De är perenna vilket innebär att de tacksamt kommer tillbaka år efter år då de förökar sig genom att sätta sidolökar.

Förutom Thalian har jag även satt två sorters narcisser som jag tycker är väldigt fina, det är sorterna ´Bridal Crown´ och ´Obdam´.

Löken vill gärna stå på ett svalt ställe, till exempel under högre buskar och träd. I stark sol blommar den snabbt ut och vi vill ju kunna njuta av floret länge! Vissnande blad och stjälkar låter jag stå kvar en tid efter att blomman vissnat ner då jag vill att all kraft ska tillbaka ner i knölen innan jag klipper bort den. Ett bra tips är att sätta lökarna bland perenner som döljer blasten från löken så snart de tittar upp.
Jag sätter lökarna i gropar som är två till tre gånger lökens höjd med den spetsiga delen av löken uppåt. Strör i långsamtverkande gödsel för lök i planteringsgropen som är rikt på fosfor vilket ger löken energi och rustar den mot skadeangrepp. När lökarna är på plats i jorden täcker jag dom med jord och plattar försiktigt till. Nu väntar jag med spänning på alla lök som kommer titta upp i vår och vara så tacksam att jag gick ut i den blöta och höstgrå trädgården och fick ner dom!
